Dear Sir,
I think it just may be possible that Ron Paul is not at all ignorant as to the verses in the Quran that are being used by those who would fuel a division between Islam and the West. Is it possible that the root of the problem is not religion, as we would be lead to believe, but something more along the lines of global economics? Is it possible that certain lines of the Quran that have be quoted ad nauseum are nothing more than a distraction used not only to divert attention but also to incite the faithful?
Many countries don't have the advantage of separation of church and state and therefore neither church or state are protected making one easily used to control the other.
Just sayin'.

"The Christofascists are tumultuous and oppressing. I abhor any Christian who denies that the New Testament is about peace, love and non-resistance as the sole means to change evil."

If you are equating "Christofascists" with Islamofascist then I take it you mean people who would force conversions and if that is the case, then I agree with you.

Jesus calls us not to recite a creed (as in Islam) but to a relationship with God the Father and relationships are not forged at swordpoint or at gunpoint. However Jesus did not call us to stand by and peacefully protest from the safety of our living rooms while gross injustice* is being commited or while it could be prevented. There is such a thing as a middle ground between absolute fascism and absolute pacifism.

*I would count "Death to America! Death to Infidels! Death to Isreal!" as three gross injustices.

I have seen "Fitnah" translated as oppression as well. That does not change the last half or the surah, "and all submit to the religion of Allah alone."

I recommend "Unveiling Islam" by Dr. Ergun Caner and his brother Dr. Emir Caner, both former Sunni Muslims.

Implic:

Both those books are Old Testament verses that have nothing to do with today. They were timely advocations for the ancient Israelites, people who no longer exist as God expelled them, punished them and diluted them to the four corners of the Earth 2000 years ago.

Psalm 137:9: "Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones."

This verse is in reference to the people of Babylon, which is in modern-day Iraq. Could this have anything to do with why an Evangelical Christian President has killed over a million innocent Iraqis?

Deuteronomy 20:16: "But of the cities ... which the Lord thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth."

Could this have anything to do with why the government of Israel is committing slow genocide against the people of Gaza?

What Quran is that?

I'm a Christian but I've studied all of the relihgion's holy books. Surrah 8 is about fighting oppression:

Surrah 8:39 starts with "And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, "

The Christofasiscts are tumultuous and oppressing. I abhor any Christian who denies that the New Testament is about peace, love and non-resistance as the sole means to change evil.

The Christofascists are hypocrites, putting power in force, not peace.
